The Power Pain Reliever: Copaiba Essential Oil
The Origins of Copaiba
Our Copaiba Essential Oil is distilled from the Copaiba tree (Copaifera Langsdorfii) found in Brazil. The trees are tapped for their oily resin which then flows out and is collected in batches. The oil-resin from several trees is collected and processed through steam distillation that creates the powerful Copaiba Essential Oil, which is additionally used in medicines and aromatherapy.
Copaiba is the most popular pain reliever in Brazil and is now becoming more well known outside of Central and South America, thanks to the growing popularity of natural health remedies and a return to the use of more ancient medicines. The peoples of Amazonia have been using the Copaiba tree oil-resin in traditional medicine for centuries.
How Does it Work?
Copaiba Essential Oil is able to provide pain relief and anti-inflammatory support because it is a cannabinoid. Copaiba cannabinoids can attach to the Endocannabinoid System (ECS) in the body. The human body uses the Endocannabinoid System to help maintain the equilibrium though all systems. Pain, memory, mood, appetite, stress, sleep, metabolism, immune and reproductive function are all impacted by the endocannabinoid system.
What are the Effects of Cannabinoids?
Conversely, Copaiba cannabinoids are not the same as THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) which are found in cannabis, which causes you to get “high” when it binds with the CB1 receptors. However, Copaiba only binds with CB2 receptors – found in the peripheral nervous system, immune cells, muscles, skin, and vital organs.
CB2 receptors being triggered by Copaiba Essential Oil can provide pain relief, insomnia relief, increased appetite, reduced stress, and induce euphoria but will not get you “high”. This is because it contains beta-caryophyllene, which is the primary sesquiterpene in black pepper, cloves, hops, rosemary and Copaiba. So, when you use Copaiba Essential Oil or any essential oil that contains beta-caryophyllene, you activate the endocannabinoid system (ECS) without any psychotropic effects!
Better than OTC!
Did you know that regular use of over-the-counter (OTC) pain relievers like Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen have been shown to cause liver damage? You can protect your liver and other systems by using more naturally aligned pain relievers. Copaiba Essential Oil can be used daily, several times if necessary, to help relieve arthritis, inflammation, injury, fight infections, clear and heal the skin while helping to support overall health and well-being.
