Cannabis Essential Oil vs CBD Oil

This article is about one of our best selling products, Cannabis Sativa Essential Oil, and how it’s different from CBD oil.

Both CBD oil and cannabis Sativa essential oils are derived from the cannabis Sativa plant, hemp variety. This variety has only trace amounts of THC, which is required for the resulting product to be sold in all 50 states in the USA.

What is CBD Oil?

CBD is a cannabinoid present in the cannabis Sativa plant. CBD and other cannabinoids are extracted through the process of solvent or Co2 extraction. Cannabinoids have been found to have wonderful therapeutic benefits for a variety of symptoms, complaints, and ailments.

What is Cannabis Sativa Essential Oil?

Cannabis sativa essential oil is extracted using steam distillation, whereby only the aromatic molecules or essence of the cannabis Sativa plant are collected. The resulting oil is rich in terpenes, which are found to have similar therapeutic effects as CBD.

CBD and other Cannabinoids cannot be extracted through the steam distillation process, which is good news since cannabinoids may inhibit the effect of terpenes.

Our Cannabis Product

The Cannabis Sativa Essential Oil offered by Miracle Botanicals is rich in the terpenes myrcene and beta-caryophyllene in a nearly 1:1 ratio.
