Hawaiian Kukui Nut Oil - Cold Pressed (Aleurites Moluccana)

Unlike our Expeller Pressed Kukui Nut Oil, this version is Cold Pressed. It's greener and nuttier, and more earthy smelling than our previous Kukui Nut offering. It's grown and pressed right here on the Big Island of Hawaii.

All of the nuts are grown naturally. Kukui doesn't require any chemicals to stop bugs it from being eaten by bugs or birds. It's plentiful here on the island and very hearty. 

Kukui Nut Oil is a deeply moisturizing oil, with many unique benefits. It penetrates the skin easily, without leaving a greasy residue. This oil contains Vitamins A, C, and E, as well as Linoleic Acid, Alpha-Linoleic Acid, Oleic Acid, Lanoleic Acid, Omega-3s, and more!

These fatty components have been known to support the healing of certain skin conditions. Kukui Nut Oil is also used to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and possesses immune boosting properties that protect you from the elements and free radical damage.

The Kukui Nut Tree has a lot of cultural significance here in Hawai'i, and was thought to be one of many "canoe plants" brought to the islands by early Polynesian settlers. Also called the candlenut tree, this plant is often associated with light and enlightenment.

This is because in Old Hawai'i, these nuts were burned to provide light, and the oil was also extracted from the nuts to burn in stone lamps.
