Description
Tamanu oil, also known as Foraha or Kamani (in Hawai'i) is cold pressed from the nut of the Calophyllum Inophyllum tree. The oil extracted has a rich, deep scent with a bold and dark color.
Tamanu is well known for its healing and nourishing activity that it is considered one of the most active of all plant oils. Tamanu oil works wonders on the skin, as the oil contains a unique fatty acid composition, which speeds new cell growth and increases micro circulation. Tamanu is most beneficial for scarred and damaged skin, as well as skin prone to ingrown hairs and spotting.
Most Tamanu oil on the market is filtered and/or refined. Ours is virgin, cold pressed and unfiltered. The resulting oil retains more healing, nourishing and soothing properties. Although it looks a little sandy, those granules are actually naturally occurring fat globules that immediately melt upon contact with the skin.
