Benefits

Pain Relief

Ginger is hypothesized to inhibit eicosanoids, which are chemical signalers of pain. Ginger may help alleviate symptoms of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and general muscular discomfort.

Ginger may also help reduce swelling, and when combined with orange oil, it has been found to reduce stiffness and pain in chronic knee pain.

Digestion

A wonderful general aid to digestion (not surprising since it is added to so many dishes). Ginger is an antiseptic and carminative substance. As a result, it may be used to treat food poisoning. It is also used to alleviate intestinal infections and bacterial dysentery. It can also help increase appetite for those who would like to put on weight.

Weight Loss

Ginger is used to help reduce sugar cravings. It's also considered a powerful antioxidant, and a go-to for reducing inflammation.

Erectile Function / Mens Health

Ginger is useful as a circulatory stimulant for men. It can amplify blood flow from and to organs and tissues. Increased blood flow is a key component of getting and keeping an erection.

Ginger is also thought to raise testosterone levels, by amplifying luteinizing hormone production and increasing cholesterol level in the testes. It can also curb oxidative stress, keep the blood glucose in check, and amplify blood flow.

Cancer Therapy

According to the American Cancer Society, preliminary research on animals has shown that Ginger may be useful in treating cancer.

Directions

Ginger is a hot oil, which means it has a tendency to cause a burning sensation when applied neat to the skin. Some people still like to apply it neat. They either enjoy the hot sensation or they are immune to it.

  • Massage Oil: Dilute a 2-5 drops of Ginger in a tablespoon of carrier oil, and massage into the skin, or use 10-20 drops and apply directly to the soles of the feet for therapeutic benefits.

  • Inhalation: Inhale this oil directly from the bottle for therapeutic benefits, or apply a few drops to a cloth and inhale that way.

  • Culinary: Use in sweet or savory culinary dishes by adding a few drops to your recipe. It can be used as a substitute for fresh or ground ginger. 1-2 drops will likely be enough for your entire dish, but it's good to experiment to find out the right amount for your recipe.

Note: Do not diffuse in a waterless diffuser as this oil as it is irritating to the mucous membranes when inhaled that way. Waterless diffusers are the best for most essential oils.

  • Drawer and Space Refresher: Adding a few drops to a handkerchief, pillow case, square of fabric, or a cotton ball and place in a drawer or other space. The same method can also be used for indirect inhalation. It may be beneficial to dilute the oil first.

Blends well with: Bergamot, Cedarwood, Clove Bud Super, Eucalyptus, Frankincense, Geranium, Grapefruit, Jasmine, Juniper Berry, Lemon, Mandarin, Neroli, Patchouli, Rose, Sandalwood, Vetiver, Ylang Ylang

Recipes

Pain-Relief Massage Blend

All of these oils are known to help ease physical pain and reduce emotional stress. Massage this blend over the pained area.

General Circulation and Erectile Function Massage

Add the essential oil drops to the Rose Hip Seed oil and massage over the chest, abdomen, back, legs, or arms. Alternatively, the essential oils can be doubled, tripled, or used without carrier oil for application to the soles of the feet, in which case you would use only a few drops.

Detoxifying Bath Blend

Add the essential oil drops to the Hazelnut oil. Alternatively, you can use another carrier oil, milk or vodka. Add the mixture to a warm bath and soak at least 20 minutes

Alleviating Digestive Upsets

Mix the oils together and massage the blend over your belly.

Spicy, warm, and gorgeous

I adore spice oils! I ordered this oil to add to a muscle cream and I was not disappointed. It works well to relieve stiff muscles quickly as well as energize the recipient. It’s also great in combination with Tulsi or Anise for indigestion.
