We love sandalwoods! All true sandalwoods are in the "santalum" family. Here, we are offering two of the most potent, therapeutic, and pure santalum's available today.

Our lovely Hawaiian Sandalwood (santalum paniculatum) comes from our Island (Hawaii). At present it sports the highest level of santalols in the world. 

Our lovely Australian Sandalwood (santalum spicatum) is sourced from a wonderful Australian supplier who helps us source the spicatum with the highest levels of santalols available.

Both of our sandalwoods are also sustainably and organically grown.

The quality of a santalum hinges on its santalol content. The chemical constituent is considered highly therapeutic. For instance, according the "the science", alpha-santalol has been shown to have anti-tumor and anti-cancer properties, and a marked decrease in inflammatory markers have also been shown with alpha-santalol administration in skin tissue models. 

Note: It used to be that Indian sandalwood (santalum album) was the considered the best sandalwood in the world. However, the quality of santalum album has declined over time. Specifically, to keep up with demand, producers of Indian sandalwood began harvesting the trees earlier and earlier, until the aroma and chemical composition were affected in a big, noticeable way.

Note that sandalwood is a pure essential oil that's commonly applied without any carrier oil. It's a more fatty (non-astringent) oil, which is more suitable for direct application.

Sandalwoods also do well in dilution and blended with other oils. It's considered a fixative and will help stabilize the aroma and integrity of other essential oils.
