Frankincense Carterii Resin - Organic (Boswellia Carterii)

Our Organic Frankincense Carterii Resin is harvested in the hills of Eastern Africa. Frankincense Carterii Resin has a deep, sweet, and pleasant aroma. It has traditionally been used as incense during religious rituals. 

Frankincense Carterii is the "traditional" Frankincense species, and is the source of the the most common kind of Frankincense Essential Oil.

Frankincense Carterii has been studied for its anti-cancer properties. It is also useful for skin care, reducing respiratory problems, and calming anxiety.

Resin has been used in ceremony around the world in the most advanced civilizations from the Ancient Egyptians to the Native Americans.

Used for protection, clearing energy and meditation. Resin has been used to connect with the higher self through heavenly fragrance to help heal and stabilize our minds and come into a deeper knowing of self.

Reducing anxiety... Frankincense Carterii has long been used in religious ceremonies thanks to its ability to focus the mind and promote a calm and balanced emotional state. It is great for reducing anxiety and clearing feelings of distress or self-doubt. 

BURN THE RESIN

With multiple different resin burners available, there are many ways to burn resin. We recommend using an electric resin burner.

Electric Burner....We have this device from Amazon.com in our apothecary, and we appreciate it very much! It does a wonderful job burning our resins without putting any charcoal smoke into the air.  

All you have to do is add your resins to the receptacle, plug it in, and turn it on. Soon you will be basking in the beautiful, resinous aroma. (Our unit turns off by itself.)

Burning resin using a charcoal disc (not our favorite because of the charcoal burning. The scent is not as clean, but it works too! 😃)

• Using tongs, light a charcoal disc with matches or lighter until it ignites. 
• Once it is lit, put the charcoal in an incense burner (avoid wood or glass as it would burn or shatter.) 
• To prevent burning any surfaces fill the bottom of the container with sand, stones or dirt. 
• Add a small amount of resin to the top of the charcoal. As the resin burns feel the atmosphere get blanketed in aromatic bliss!

MAKE RESIN TEA:

Frankincense Tea: 

• Crush Resin with a mortar or pestle and add a teaspoon into 1-2 cups of warm or room temperature water. No heat is necessary to extract the medicinal properties from the resin.
• Use plastic wrap or a cloth to cover your cup or container. Let set overnight.
• Drink the resin infusion throughout the next day.
• This tea should be good for a couple days refrigerated.
• If you made too much, try freezing the remaining tea in ice cube trays.
• Make sure to listen to your intuitive signals and moderate your intake. It is better to consume small amounts over-time, rather than a large quantity all at once.
• You can reuse the tears used during the first infusion for another batch!

MAKE A RESIN INFUSION:

• Crush the resin in a Mortar and Pestle
• Add 2-4 oz of Resin to 12-24 oz to Olive Oil or another Carrier Oil
• Let the mixture sit at 100°F for 72 hours (We use an Instant Pot)
• Strain and Enjoy
