...anyway, it smells very, very buttery. The smell is something like a cross between the butter-flavored oil on movie popcorn and cheese. It's a very strong, and I find the scent too overwhelming to use for aromatic purposes, but that's fine because I bought this eo specfically for its skin care benefits, and in that role it's absolutely amazing. Just five drops added to 2.5 oz mix of jojoba, almond, and rose hip oil made the oil mixture noticeably smoother, longer lasting on the skin, and overall more effective at softening dry skin. I can't recommend it highly enough as a booster to skin care products. One unexpected feature of this oil is that by itself it has a bitter flavor. It does taste very strongly like butter, of course, but apparently the extraction process removes natural sugars in butter along with the water. If used as a flavoring agent one would want to make sure not to use the eo undiluted on food. Either put it into an edible carrier oil--coconut oil would probably be a good choice since it has a little natural sweetness--or just make sure the butter eo is thoroughly mixed into whatever dish it's been added to. A little of this oil is all you need, whether for flavoring food or any other use.
Definitely food grade, makes me salivate just smelling it. Imagine butter and make it concentrated and richer.
I bought this based on Hope’s description of it, especially that it’s great for skin (and it’s an ingredient in her Cinnamon Bun blend!) - and it smells delicious! I highly recommend it!
Thank you so much!
I don’t find this oil that appealing and haven’t found a use for it yet.
