This article is about one of our best-selling products, Cannabis Essential Oil, and how it compares to CBD Oil.

Both CBD oil and cannabis essential oils are derived from the Cannabis Sativa plant, hemp variety. This variety has plenty of cannabinoids, while it contains only trace amounts of THC.

What is CBD Oil?

CBD is a cannabinoid present in the cannabis Sativa plant. CBD and other cannabinoids are extracted through the process of solvent extraction. Cannabinoids have been found to have wonderful therapeutic benefits for a variety of symptoms, complaints, and ailments.

However, cannabinoids also come with side effects such as dry mouth, drowsiness, and fatigue. Also, in my experience, CBD oil doesn't work as well on the second or third day as it did on the first. It seems like I have to take quite a long break before the initial effect can be experienced again.

What is Cannabis Essential Oil?

Cannabis sativa essential oil is extracted by steam distillation of the flowering plant, whereby only the aromatic molecules of the Cannabis Sativa plant are collected. The resulting oil is rich in terpenes, which are found to have similar therapeutic effects as CBD, but without any cannabinoids or the accompanying side effect.

CBD and other Cannabinoids cannot be extracted through the steam distillation process, which is good news since cannabinoids tend to stick to cell membranes, and they may inhibit the effect of terpenes.

I view terpenes as tiny messengers of light who whisper their instructions for optimal health to the cells and then leave without a trace. That's how I feel about essential oils because they can be very effective, but they leave no residue behind.

Our Cannabis Essential Oil

The Cannabis Sativa Essential Oil offered by Miracle Botanicals is rich in the terpenes myrcene and beta-caryophyllene in a ratio of nearly 1:1.

These terpenes, especially in combination with one another have been found useful for many concerns, including but not limited to easing chronic pain and inflammation, protecting the cells of the digestive tract, anxiety, and depression, and inhibiting the proliferation of cancer cells.

This oil is an important component in my Advanced Pain & Nerve Formula and Sweet Dreams Essential Oil Blend, both of which have worked wonders for many happy customers. Our Cannabis essential oil is also paired with Frankincense in our beloved "Dankincense" blend.
