Frankincense Neglecta Hydrosol - Wildcrafted (Boswellia Neglecta)
- A frankincense water, not an essential oil. Wildcrafted resin from Boswellia neglecta, hydrodistilled in Ethiopia to a water that holds only a trace of oil.
- A hard-to-find Black Frankincense. Boswellia neglecta is the frankincense a connoisseur goes looking for, a darker, rarer species than the everyday oils, drawn from wild Ethiopian resin.
- The frankincense scent, without burning the resin. It reads as the incense you know from lit tears, dry and a little sweet, closing on a bright, faintly citrus note.
- A water we use ourselves. Like everything we carry, our family uses this frankincense hydrosol on the skin and to freshen a room or linens.
- Third-party tested. Every oil and water we sell is checked by an outside lab for adulteration, pesticides and synthetics, and the resin is harvested in small quantities.
- The same water in every size. Pick the size that suits you on the Compare tab. A hydrosol is used as it comes, so it needs no dilution. Compare sizes.

Frankincense neglecta hydrosol, the aromatic water of Boswellia neglecta resin
6 benefits of Frankincense Neglecta Hydrosol
A facial mist over clean skin
Frankincense neglecta hydrosol works as a light toner, spritzed over clean skin and left to dry. It has the watery feel of a hydrosol, a plant water used in skin and hair care, so it sits on the face without any oil. Use it on its own or before your serum.
A mist for room and linens
Misted into a room or over linens, this frankincense water carries a soft, resinous scent through the air. It is the ritual use people bring frankincense to, the incense note without a flame or any smoke. Let it settle over sheets and cushions, or freshen a room whenever you like.
The incense scent without a flame
This is the resin's incense scent kept as a water you can mist, earthy and dry where lit frankincense turns smoky. Boswellia neglecta reads as the frankincense you know, without the smoke or the ash a burning resin leaves behind. Nothing has to burn for the scent to fill a room.
A layering water for the blender
For a perfumer or blender, this frankincense water sits under lighter florals and other resin waters, lending a dry, resinous depth. It brings the frankincense character to a layered spray without adding any oil. Layer it beneath a floral water, or let it hold a spray of several hydrosols together.
A rare Boswellia neglecta
Wild-harvested for its resin and distilled to this water, this is a frankincense you do not see often. It's the rarer cousin of the common frankincense, kept for those who want the species itself, not just any frankincense water.
A gentle water for everyday skin
Used just as it comes, this frankincense hydrosol is a mild plant water for daily skin, not a concentrated essential oil. Mist it on after cleansing, on its own or under a moisturizer. Because a hydrosol is a water, there is nothing to dilute and no oil to add.
How to use
On clean skin
Facial mistSpritz Frankincense Neglecta Hydrosol onto clean skin as a facial mist or toner, morning or night. Use it straight from the bottle, or thin it with a little water for a softer mist. Unlike an essential oil, a hydrosol needs no dilution and nothing added to carry it onto the skin.
In the air
Room and linenMist it through the air or over linens as a room and linen spray, holding the bottle at arm's length. The frankincense scent drifts as the water settles, then fades, so refresh it whenever a space needs it. Try a small spot first on polished wood or delicate fabric.
Keeping it fresh
StorageKeep Frankincense Neglecta Hydrosol refrigerated after opening so it stays fresh, the way any plant water keeps best cold. Store it out of the light and close the cap between uses. It is made for external use as a mist and spray, not for drinking.
