Description
Corsican Helichrysum is considered to be the highest grade Helichrysum Italicum in the world. Corsica, the fourth largest Island in the Mediteranian, is located off the southern tip of France and creates a unique environment for this Helichrysum Italicum to grow. Corsican Helichrysum Italicum Essential Oil has a rich, potent aroma and striking medicinal qualities, although the yellow flowers appear small and understated. Helichrysum is known as one of the most powerful oils for skin health and cell regeneration. It can also be an aid in cases of healing physical and emotional trauma.
The chemical make up of this essential oil is especially unique, as it contains italidones, which are not found in any other essential oils. Gamma-curcumene is also a powerful anti-inflammatory that can be found in this oil. Many of its active components are curcumins, which are the same anti-inflammatories that are found in turmeric. For this reason, many people identify a slight curry-like aroma in Helichrysum Italicum oils.
The type of Helichrysum that grows on Corsica is a sub species of Helichrysum Italicum, and is known for its especially high levels of the compound neryl acetate, which is an anti-spasmodic and contributes to the more richly floral aroma of this particular oil. This particular oil has some of the highest levels of neryl acetate that we have seen.
Properties: Antibacterial, Anti-inflammatory, Antimicrobial, Antioxidant, Antispasmodic, Astringent, Cholagogue, Cicatrizant, Diuretic, Expectorant, Hepatic, Nervine, Stimulant
