Clary Sage and Egyptian Geranium’s Lady Loving Benefits
In this blog we will showcase two oils whose powers lie in supporting women’s health and hormone regulation for those days when we need a serious boost.
A great balancer and regulator of hormones, Geranium is known to maintain the consistent release of adrenal hormones and male and female sex hormone secretion. This oil has powerful pain reduction properties that makes it particularly useful when seeking relief from pain due to menstrual cramps and PMS. This oil is also known to keep sebum production down while maintaining the suppleness of the skin to sustain your glow and prevent breakouts from occurring.
Clary Sage has been renowned for many centuries because of its wide-ranging abilities to treat issues relating to many general health problems. It is wonderfully balancing, much like Geranium and is generally thought of as an oil that is geared toward women’s health. Clary Sage contains phytoestrogens, which are a naturally occurring estrogen that can ease menstrual complaints and menopausal symptoms. It also has a knack for calming and reducing anxiety levels, and we all know when our mental state is clear, the health of our body follows the lead, almost like magic.
Two Oils Are Better Than One
Used in conjunction, these oils have the potential to create a very powerful concoction that can help with the anxiety, stress and feelings of being overwhelmed, for those times when you have a lot on your plate, but your body doesn’t seem to want to keep up. Symptoms of the menstrual cycle and menopause can leave you with depression, mood swings, cramps and discomfort. But these oils can regulate those pesky spells of feeling oddly out of place in your own skin.
Check out a few of our recipes that combine these two soothing oils to help ease you through hormonal imbalance and physical uneasiness:
- 1 1/2 oz. Argan Oil
- 4 drops Lavender Essential Oil
- 4 drops Geranium Essential Oil
- 4 drops Clary Sage Essential Oil
- 8 drops Sandalwood Essential Oil
Mix all oils together, then add the blend to the Argan base. Shake well and apply to lower abdomen and lower back regions.
All of these essential oils are known to help balance hormones. You can mix and match them as you prefer by using a few drops of each in your diffuser.
