Description

Tamanu oil, also known as Foraha or Kamani (in Hawai'i) is cold pressed from the nut of the Calophyllum Inophyllum tree. The oil extracted has a rich, deep scent with a bold and dark color.

Tamanu is well known for its healing and nourishing activity that it is considered one of the most active of all plant oils. Tamanu oil works wonders on the skin, as the oil contains a unique fatty acid composition, which speeds new cell growth and increases micro circulation. Tamanu is most beneficial for scarred and damaged skin, as well as skin prone to ingrown hairs and spotting.

Most Tamanu oil on the market is filtered and/or refined. Ours is virgin, cold pressed and unfiltered. The resulting oil retains more healing, nourishing and soothing properties. Although it looks a little sandy, those granules are actually naturally occurring fat globules that immediately melt upon contact with the skin.

Looks Odd But Love it & the Scent!

Love the smell of this oil. Color is ugly but it doesn't show up on your skin when rubbed in. Typically is used in carrier blends at around 20% (I believe?) so not an issue any way.
Put some in a hand balm I made with shea & cocoa butter, with a little bit of others I had (argan, pomegranate co2, rosehip co2) with EO's, main one was myrrh and it has saved my hands this winter.
Normally I get splits on my finger tips & thumbs that get deep & hurt. Had 2 and just overnight they got better, were gone in just 2-3 days. I was shocked. had used every thing commercial I could get, udder balm, silicon glove types etc. The difference was night and day! Even an arthritic cyst on my finger subsided a little.
The smell of this may not be for everyone, but I actually love the scent. I wouldn't use it as perfume, but it doesn't bother my stomach & I'm very sensitive to smells & get nauseous from many scents. .It's unusual, not sure how to describe, but I'm pretty sure if used in a blend it shouldn't affect things too much.
Hard to say as my hand balm accidentally got too much myrrh in it & even though I wound up doubling the balm part of it, the myrrh overpowered everything. It also had Helichrysum which is another strong scent I'm not fond of, but it does wonders, as does myrrh. Frankly, I would've preferred it to smell like the Tamanu than those EO's! I've almost used up what I made so next batch I'll be adding more Tamanu, I think it smells great with the cocoa butter!
I've used it in a facial blend for my elderly Mother that's been really helping my Mom's dry skin, red and scaly patches. She had been getting sort of mole like growths on her face and nose that were very unsightly and uncomfortable. Since I started using EO's with good carrier blends, it's been amazing how much better her face looks now. Nobody believes she's 99!
MB just had a sale & I haven't had time to make more of my blend, so I'm trying their Eternal Beauty and that seems pretty fabulous too.
Miracle Botanicals has great Essential Oils and wonderful carriers, including many unusual (& very effective) ones. I love their Raspberry Seed, Pomegranate & Rosehip CO2's just to name a few.
Miracle Botanicals is one of my top 3 Favorite EO companies. I've tried quite a few and I am extremely satisfied with them. MB is a small company with big company prices, superior quality & great customer service. Their Essential oils are the real deal and Reiki infused with love by the owner, too. (I'm not into/familiar with Reiki, but I figure positive energy can't hurt. I think it's great she cares enough to take the time to do that. Think of it as icing on an already tasty cake!)
Thanks to the Miracle Botanical Family for providing a place I can rely on to get some of the best essential oil & associated products around.

For beautiful hair and skin!

This is fantastic for curly hair! I put a few drops in my palms and work it through the mid line of my hair down to the ends and a little on top for my frizzy ends. The consistency works as a curl enhancer, just beautiful!
I use it on my face when it is still damp or when I am in the shower, it gives my skin a bouncy dews glow. I am fair with red hair and I have some red patches Tamanu calms it down. I mix it with a little black spruce and it smells like mossy forest... love it
