Description
Matricaria Chamomilla, also known as German or "Blue" Chamomile, is a small flowering plant spread throughout Europe and Asia. It has been used since antiquity for its powerful anti-inflammatory and pain-relief benefits. This particular oil is Co2 extracted, and has been used for gastrointestinal issues, and inflammatory conditions of the skin, mucous membranes, respiratory system, and genital area. Our Co2 Chamomile Essential Oil comes from the same species as our steam distilled German (Blue) Chamomile Essential Oil, though this oil is extracted from flowers grown in Serbia.
The aroma of this Co2 extracted oil has more body and sweetness than steam distilled Chamomile essential oils, because it retains certain aromatic and chemical components from the original plant material that do not make it through in the steam distillation process. If you are looking for a German Chamomile essential oil that has an exceptionally clean and sweet aroma, look no further!
Chamazulene is a highly therapeutic chemical component that has potent anti-inflammatory properties, and is known for its bright blue color. It is worth noting that this oil actually contains more chamazulene (8.9%) than our steam distilled German (Blue) Chamomile Essential Oil (5.84%) and our Blue Tansy Essential Oil (7.03%), despite the fact that this Co2 extracted oil does not posess the same vibrant blue color as either of those oils.

Benefits
Anti-inflammatory
German Chamomile Essential Oil contains powerful anti-inflammatory compounds that are known to help reduce pain, redness, and swelling due to inflammation. In addition, German Chamomile Essential Oil appears to have antihistamine effects that can help decrease allergy symptoms.
Skincare
The antioxidants in chamomile are excellent for skin as well as the rest of the body. They help prevent oxidative stress, which makes the skin look older. This is because oxidative stress destroys collagen, one of the key anti-aging proteins in your skin.
In addition to its protective abilities, chamomile has also shown a potential ability to improve wound healing, which suggests it may even be able to boost collagen synthesis.
Pain relief
Along with its anti-inflammatory properties, German Chamomile Essential Oil is used to help reduce pain by calming and sedating nerves.
Digestion & Nausea
It's been called "Mother of the Gut" for its apparent ability to regulate and balance the functions of the intestines. It's great for bloated feeling, indigestion, gas, nausea, and headaches caused by digestive troubles.
Sleep Therapy
German Chamomile Essential Oil is recommended as a nerve relaxer, mild sedative, and stress and anxiety reliever. As a consequence, it is one of the best ways to get to sleep in case you are feeling overwrought and tense.
