I've never seen this for sale anywhere else. And I'm sad that this product is being replaced. Even though I would have preferred the pure oil, which is what I got here before, I stocked up on the diluted oil. I like this one much better than the new one from France. This oil's aroma stays true on my skin all day, while the one from France changes to something that I don't like--it has a "powdery" drydown that smells more like a synthetic perfume. I won't buy that one again. But I hope they can one day stock this one again.
I first encountered Inula on my bike rides on the San Francisco Bay Trail, where it is considered an invasive species. It took me months to figure out what this cute little christmas-tree-shaped plant with intensely sticky and beautifully fragrant leaves was. When I finally got the name, I looked for the essential oil online. That was what first led me to Miracle Botanicals.
I use it in lotions and in my morning facial cleanser as a soothing anti-inflammatory as well as a long-lasting fragrance. I also combine Inula, Laurus nobilis, and Artemesia douglasiana in a light lotion as a mosquito, gnat, fly, and tick repellent for walks in the woods (if I forget to bring the lotion, I pluck a few leaves from each of these plants and rub them on my skin). Extremely effective: I can watch the flying insects zoom into my personal space, get a whiff of my repellent, bounce a couple of times on my shield, and then fly away. I love that I can wear something that smells beautiful to repel insects, instead of stinky citronella or synthetic bug sprays that remind me of Raid.
Really sorry it's being discontinued! Maybe I have to start my own distillery to extract essential oil from the endless fields of Inula that grows here.
I ordered this oil because I’ve heard about its mucolytic properties, and I hope it helps with stuffiness, both from being in air conditioning as well as the dust when it’s windy. It smells wonderful!
I’ve not smelled an oil quite like it and I really love it’s bright vibes.
