Description

Agarwood Essential Oil, also known as OUD oil, is an extremely rare and precious oil extracted from trees in the Aquilaria family, which grow throughout northeastern India, Bhutan, and parts of southeast Asia. Miracle Botanicals Agarwood Essential Oil comes from the Aquilaria Crassna species in Thailand.

Agarwood Essential Oil is the result of a very unusual process. Normally, the heartwood of Aquilaria trees is light in color and doesn't have a strong aroma. However, when the wood is infected by a specific kind of mold, the tree produces an oleoresin as that saturates the wood as a defense mechanism, giving it a very dark color and the unique aroma.

Even though it has a mythic status in many religions, agarwood oil is still relatively unknown in the West. Some believe that Agarwood is the plant known in the Bible as the "aloes".

Agarwood is quickly taking root among designer perfumes, but at the moment, most agarwood oil is still consumed in Japan and Saudi Arabia. The oil is one of the rarest and most expensive natural products in the world.

Part of the high price is due to the small number of remaining trees that can produce this kind of oil, and another part is due to the complex and long-running process that's needed for the oil to be created. Not surprisingly, the market has become flooded by cheaper, synthetic imitations that hardly contain any actual agarwood extract.

Direct Inhalation: Inhale directly from to bottle to enjoy the oil's intoxicating aroma and for it's therapeutic benefits.

Bath: Add a few drops to an ounce of carrier oil, milk or vodka, and then disperse in a warm bath and soak for at least 20 minutes.

Added to a Cream, Lotion, Oil, or other Skin Solution: Add agarwood at about 2% to your favorite skin solution to add this oil to your skincare regimen.

Excellent Quality

I purchased the 10% in Meadowfoam and I was very pleased with how potent the aroma was even at 10% concentration. Not overpowering at that concentration. It can be worn as a body oil for it's amazinf scent alone. I love the scent of Oud and this is the real deal. I use it as a beard oil additive and I find it to be very high quality. I will definitely order more.

Delicate, pleasant, but Oud??

Delicate scent, pleasant, but it doesn’t smell very much like Oud to me. Disappointing. Probably their pure Agarwood, not diluted in Meadowfoam, is better. Their pure Sandalwood is certainly excellent, which is why I tried this.
