I'm a city dweller. I was looking for natural repellents for cockroaches and I read in several places that catnip oil was very effective. I wanted something I could feel comfortable using around the edges of my kitchen counters. This really does the job. No method is 100% but when used in combination with other methods, the catnip oil is great.
I use Catnip Oil in a mixture of lemon juice, vanilla & water for a spray I use on my dog to repel fleas & ticks. It totally worked last year. I quit giving my dog flea & tick pills since I read that they contain pesticides & all the side effects.
Very calming for me. No effect on cats, though.
Excellent for relaxation! Smells great in a sleep blend with Valerian, Chamomile, and lavender.
Cats also love it. Use very sparingly mixed with Valerian and rub a tiny amount on cat toys. Crazy happy kitties!
