Rose Hip Seed Oil (Organic) - CO2 Extracted (Rosa Canina)

Our organic Rose Hip Seed Oil comes from the seeds of Rosa canina and is CO2 extracted. The country of origin is Germany. It is amber to orange in color, with a light, flowing consistency and a mild, nutty aroma.

It is a carrier oil, so you can use it as it is, straight on the skin, or as a base for essential oils. Rose hip seed oil is rich in essential fatty acids such as linoleic and linolenic acid, so it sinks in quickly without leaving an oily film. On the skin it forms a protective barrier that helps keep moisture in.

It also carries several antioxidants in high amounts, including a compound the skin turns into vitamin A. These support cell turnover and help the skin repair itself, which is why people use it to soften the look of scars and wrinkles. The same antioxidants help with the discoloration and loss of tone that sun exposure leaves behind, for skin that looks more even and radiant.

This batch is mostly polyunsaturated fat at 76.8%, with 17.3% monounsaturated and 6% saturated fat. Linoleic acid leads at 51.7%, followed by alpha-linolenic acid at 25.1% and oleic acid at 17%.

For a simple day moisturizer, mix it with a few drops of Clary Sage and Carrot Seed Essential Oil. It also pairs with Argan Oil, Lavender and Helichrysum Italicum in our anti-scar lotion, and with Roman Chamomile and Lavender for dry, eczema-prone skin.
