Orange (Bitter) Peel Essential Oil (Citrus Aurantium L., ssp. amara Engl., C. bigaradia Risso)

Bitter Orange Essential Oil is crafted by cold pressing the peels of oranges from the bitter orange tree, Citrus Aurantium. This is the same species that gives us the flowers to make Neroli Essential Oil and the leaves and twigs to make Petitgrain Essential Oil. The oranges most people enjoy eating come from a different species of tree.

This oil offers an aroma that is sweet and orangey, but also has some bitter and tart notes, similar to what we detect in Grapefruit or Green Mandarin essential oils.

Bitter Orange Essential Oil can aid digestion, reduce stress, support the immune system, and is healthy for the mouth and gums.

Note: Bitter Orange Essential Oil is phototoxic. Do not store in sunlight. Do not expose skin to sunlight after application of Bitter Orange Essential Oil.

Detoxification... Bitter Orange Essential Oil can promote lymphatic drainage and the healthy circulation of blood in the body. This activity can help the body to release things that are stagnant or unnecessary.

Stress & Mood... Bitter Orange Essential Oil is commonly used lift feelings of anxiety or sadness, and to cope with stress.

Skin... Bitter Orange Essential Oil is widely used to stimulate the production of collagen in the skin, reduce the appearance of cellulite and wrinkles, promote a bright complexion, reduce acne, moisturize the skin, and also as an antiseptic for wounds and infections. However, please note that this oil is phototoxic and should be used with the proper safety precautions when applying topically.
