Pine Resin Turpentine Essential Oil - Organic (Pinus Pinaster)

Pine Resin Turpentine is steam distilled from the resin of Pinus pinaster, a tree also known as Maritime Pine or Cluster Pine. Ours is organic, and the country of origin is Portugal. The oil is clear with a thin consistency. It smells fresh, woody and earthy, and in a blend it works as a top note.

Rubbing pine resin oil on aching joints is a long-standing folk remedy. Its anti-inflammatory properties help soothe the irritation that comes with arthritis and help relieve pain and swelling. A little goes a long way. Our joint massage recipe uses just 1 drop in an ounce of Pomegranate Seed Oil, with Yarrow and Turmeric. Massage the blend into sore joints and muscles.

It also makes a strong natural insect repellent. A single drop can help keep mosquitoes, gnats, flies and other pests away. Put a drop on your clothes, on its own or with a drop of Hinoki, before you head outside. Hinoki is an effective natural repellent as well.

Pine resin oil is a natural analgesic, and that, along with its anti-inflammatory side, makes it helpful for both physical and mental stress. It is especially nice in the bath. Mix 1 drop with 2 drops of Lavender in a teaspoon of Pomegranate Seed Oil, then add it to the water.
