Cocoa Absolute Oil comes from the cacao tree, the same tropical tree from which we get cocoa butter and cocoa powder, key ingredients in chocolate. Unlike cocoa butter and cocoa powder, Cocoa Absolute Oil is extracted from the raw, unroasted bean.
It is extracted through a benign solvent extraction using a food-grade ethanol that does not contain any harmful hexanes. Because of its intense chocolatey aroma, our Cocoa Absolute is often added to bath and body products. This material is an ultra-rich, semi-solid that is food grade and has no added solvents or unnatural material.
It is also used in aromatherapy for its own therapeutic effects, as well as for its ability to enhance other essential oils.

Reduces stress and anxiety... The familiar and pleasant smell of chocolate acts on the hippocampus, the emotional center of the brain, and reduces stress while giving rise to feelings of relaxation and euphoria.
Reduces cravings... The intense chocolatey aroma of the cocoa absolute can trick the brain's satiety centers into feeling that you have eaten something sweet and satisfying. The result is a decrease in appetite and a disappearance of sugar cravings.
Aphrodisiac... Chocolate is a well-known and powerful aphrodisiac, and much of that desire-building effect comes from the aroma that's contained in the cocoa absolute.
